Phaser pedal from June 1979 — early silver-screw, skeleton-switch Boss. Factory-serviced by Roland, running two of the legendary Raytheon RC3403ADB op-amps; fully working, with the warm organic sweep of the first phasers.

A Boss Phaser PH-1 manufactured in June 1979 — the pedal that stands for the dawn of the Boss compact line, in perfect working order. This is the early silver-screw, skeleton-switch version that vintage Boss collectors hunt for. The skeleton switch originally lit its LED only for a moment when pressed; Roland themselves have serviced the pedal so the LED now stays lit while the effect is on, and in the same service the paper circuit-protection board was replaced with a safer plastic one — a factory-tuned unit. Inside are two of the legendary Raytheon RC3403ADB op-amps.

The PH-1's charm is a fat, warm, organic swirl unlike later phasers: soft and three-dimensional on clean tones, a vintage sheen and undulation with distortion. The simple controls leave the guitar's own sound intact and blend naturally into an amp.

Condition: some scratches and wear — an early Boss in this state is getting hard to find.
