The D-50 was Roland's first fully digital synthesizer: subtractive synthesis combined with harmonically rich sampled waveforms and onboard digital effects. Fusing samples and synth sound this way opened a new world — warm, dynamic, analog-like tone with the realism and flexibility of digital. Released in 1987, its mix of sampled attacks, synthesized sustains and built-in chorus, reverb and EQ shaped late-80s music across synth-pop, new wave, R&B and soundtracks. The D-50 has been reissued in software and in the Boutique series, but the sparkle is still something only the original delivers — try the famous I-11 Fantasia preset on the real thing.

This unit (serial 786378) is shop rank B — considerable wear, but nothing that interferes with normal use. Maintenance done: keyboard matrix breaks repaired, panel switch mounting fixed, battery replaced, factory data loaded; currently working well. Comes with the original hard case and AC cord, no manual. Three-month shop warranty.
