The 1987 D-50 was Roland's first fully digital synthesizer. Its LA (Linear Arithmetic) engine pairs synthesis with PCM samples, combining realistic, harmonically complex waveforms with the intuitive sound-shaping of an analog synth — and by building digital effects into a synthesizer for the first time anywhere, it created the now-obvious idea that effects are part of the patch. 16 voices, 64 memories, MIDI; it is hard to find a late-80s hit that doesn't carry at least one D-50 sound at its core.

This unit is from 1990 (serial HC10760), shop rank B — plenty of wear, scuffs and small dents, but no problem in normal use. The numeric-key tact switches (SHIFT/ENTER/0–9) have been replaced, the battery changed, factory data loaded and operation checked. The manual is missing but can be downloaded from Roland; a non-original soft case and the power cord are included. Sold without shop warranty.
